Just a quick post

If you have those cheap Michael's $1.50 stamps, I highly recommend using the "Brilliance" inks because the ink doesn't bead...it makes a very crisp image. Very happy with the outcome, was starting to worry I would have to put those lil stamps aside for my versamark ink. I also, wanted to let you know that I got that little bunny stamp from "Carousel Rubberstamp store", it is a nice little hangout. It is the only place near me that sells them I think...Photo Memories might but I haven't been there in ages.

Goodies

Lol, I was having a tough morning...so I decided to goto my favorite little rubber stamping store which I hadn't been to in a bit. Plus, I needed some new cardstock...here are the names of the cardstock that I picked up

: Aloe Weave Cardstock, white flat cardstock, and Dark Chocolate flat cardstock. I found some dewdrop Brilliance inks, and also this cute little stamp...this is a stamped image and not the actual stamp...lol! Gotta work on the coloring of this guy! I also found a beautiful stamp that I have ordered in, can't wait to get it and use it...just beautiful!

my son

Wow, hard to believe he is going to be three years old on the 31st of May!! He's my mr.independent, my child who can't sit still or likes to run off, he's my explorer, my scientist, my cause and effect child. He is my musically inclined child, he is very imaginative and fun to talk to now that he is saying a lot more than he did before Maiah was born. He is my Mr. tough guy, my snuggler, my very ticklish fun to play with kinda guy. He is my joker, he is something else, he is amazing! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
I took this picture with my new digital camera :D!! That's right I have moved up in life :), and don't have to have not so hot pictures of my cards anymore. Hurray!

My flower garden

Here's a picture of one of my Pansies that I planted over the weekend....okay, sorry one my hubby planted for me :D! Gotta give the credit when it is due :p!

My home has 4 big brick arch windows on the front of the house, and each archway has a window box to plant flowers in it. Needing ideas for a few more pretty bright colored flowers....

challenge photo's!!

I want to commend everyone on their card box challege entries :), what amazing enteries!! This first one is Julie's entry, and she used the "Doodle This" stamp set. As for inks or ribbon, or paper I am not sure, but you can check it out on her blog www.mutchtostamp.blogspot.com

This is cheryl's entry, great use of this fun stamp set :)...will have to play with stamp set more often :)! Great job, and you can check out her blogt at: www.cakvd2.blogspot.com

This is Tracy's entry, love the script stamp that you used and the lovely apricot/peach colored card stock you used too.

Hurray for me :), I got Kim's project on here :)! Isn't this just a great idea?? Too cute :D! Your welcome for that challenge, going to have to find another one soon :D!

Cards I made at Julie's House

Saturday night, I went to Julie's house to make cards...to have some mommy chat, and also to have down time from the everyday life of a stay at home mom. We had a lot of fun, there were only 2 of us there...plus, Julie...but we still seemed to have a lot of fun and no shortage of things to talk about. Thanks again Julie for the night out :D!

Here's the first card I made, sorry for the shadow but my scanner doesn't seem to like this card :(! Anyways, this card was what I came up with for my sons friend...it was for his 5th Birthday party over the weekend. The little boy just loved the card :), so did his parents :)!

This next card I made using the "Bold Butterfly" stamp set, and the "Best Blossom" stamp set. I also used a mini stamp from the Michael's $1.50 collection, and used the " Graphite Black "Brilliance ink". I must say that ink is the best ink I have used with the clear acryllic stamps, it gives you the clear crisp image you would get with wood mounted stamps. I have a bridal shower to goto next weekend, and came up with this card design...which I will use again for sure!

This is my final card I made the other night, it is a great card to encourage that certain someone in your life you feel needs some encouragement. The sentiment is out of my "Best Blossom" set :)!

The Winner Is......

Thank you so much for entering the contest challenge, you all made such beautiful box/bags :)! I lined up all the pictures of each of your projects, and had my 5 year old son pick out the one he liked best...don't worry he is a pretty good judge when it comes to craft projects. Okay, sooooo the winner of this first blog challenge that my son chose is.... Julie!

Congrats Julie, and there will be another contest next month :D so keep your eyes peeled.

Another fun challenge for you :)!

I know, I know...you just finnished doing a challenge for some blog candy for me but I found this really great challenge and a great gift idea :)! Just wanting to keep you on your toes, and not let those ink pads dry or your cardstock's get forgotten :p! I cased this over at Jennifer Reeve's blog called "Inking Along", here is her blog addy so you can go take a peek and then do this challenge:
http://www.inkingalong.blogspot.com/. I will definitely be doing this one, just have to get the right paper for the job which means a trip over to "Photo Memories" store tomorrow after I get my hair cut. This store is expensive but I think for this project it needs some pretty special fun paper, and that is where I think I will find some :)!
Yes, I did say get my hair cut...see it is down to my shoulders now, it is naturally curly on humid days and naturally frizzy for all the rest :p! My 5 mos. old daughter is feeling the need to make me bald fast, so I am getting it chopped off..not sure how I want it done yet but hoping that I will get something I like. I am nervous though...what if I come out looking like a flower or a french poodle :p??? Gack, can't have that!!!

Gotta love Michael's mini stamps

Okay, today is a better day...or I should say I had a better start to today :D! I have to make 2 cards today, one is for a friend of my son who is having a bday this weekend and the other one is for a wedding shower. I have 2 sort of ideas in my head for the two cards :)! The first card is for a 5 year old boy, I am planning on using my mini stamps I got from Michaels and use the little frog that is one set of stamps I got. Stamp the frog on as a background design, then have a plane (Cuttlebug) that will be flying through the air with "Happy Birthday" trailing behind the plane :)! Now, for the shower card...hmmm...I also have mini Michael's stamps that I plan on using as well, just don't have a layout planned for this card yet. Looks like this will be my mini stamp day especially since I didn't get to them the other night. Will post pics later!

Blog Contest almost over

Blog Contest almost over, just one more night to create!! I only have 2 people so far who have entered with a picture...would like more people to try it :D!

In A Creative Rut!

I am having one of those days that I should have stayed in bed, just because from the time I got out of bed from the time I got home at lunch time was a no good very bad day. I had to take my car into the garage this morning to get the CV joint, a tie rod, a bushing, and something else fixed too. My car would make a funny clicking/clunking noise when I would go around any sort of turn, it all started after I had my car accident on Oct.31...the dealer I took it to said it couldn't possibly be due to the accident. Well, to make a long story short the dealer did a shotty job on the car repairs...the garage I took my car to today said that the CV joint most likely was broken in the accident but they don't know for sure. My daughter (she's 5 mos) exploded just before I went in to the garage to drop off the key, she had poop up to her ears...good thing I restocked my wipe container this morning. I think she has another hole I don't know about, that just appears every now and again...it is up near the middle of her back :p! The garage people kept calling me telling me what else had to be fixed, or they found out they didn't have to fix something..that they would or wouldn't have to keep the car. Either way as of right now, my car is fixed...it shouldn't make noises :D! Bad news is the bill, lol! I soooo have to convince my hubby to ditch this thing, it is done...it has had a good life...we need something a bit bigger than what we have. We drive a Honda CRV, we can fit 3 car seats in there but I am forever wrestling with one or two carseats...time for a new to me one is what I say :)!
I am going to try, key word try to be creative tonight...I am going to break out more of my mini stamps and try to create something else new and exciting. Or I hope that when I get to my mail box that there will be 1-2 stamp sets there waiting for me to try :D!

Photo Wallet pictures

Here are the pictures for the photo wallet album I created for my hubbies nanny, will use this design again...is more user friendly I think. I used the black photo tabs you can get, rather than attaching the pictures another way...let me know what you think please :D!

My first challenge card

Sorry for the wait on the picture of this card...am still behind times with my camera!! The challenge was to break out your small stamps and use them, so I used Michaels "Studio G" clear stamps. Challenge # 1 for you!!

ONE SHEET BOX!
I haven't tried this out yet, but am going to try it out tonight I think :)! I would love to see what everyone else comes up with, might have to make this a blog candy thing...send me pictures of your one sheet box (more like a bag if you ask me, but what do I know). I would like all pictures to be in by Friday, and I will draw a name and let you all know who gets some blog candy. I haven't decided on blog candy yet, so bear with me and just know it will be something good. Perhaps some ribbon, perhaps some Michael's $1.50 stamps (if I can find more)!! Let the crafting begin!!

Card Challenge

This is a challenge that I got from Beate's site, here's this challenges link for you: http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2007/05/18/my-challenge-card-and-a-sketch-challenge-for-you/

I used some scraps of patterned paper that I had, that needed to get used up :)! I also used the scalloped circle that I got from a contest I entered on Tracy Houghtons blog site, and then I added the flower stamped image using the SU set called "Definitely Decorative Daisy" set. I would like to challenge you to try a new technique or challenge on someone's blog and have fun with it, you never know what you might find. I will be back on here for a challenge for you all to try that I found on someone's site :)! Enjoy!

Tried a SCS Challenge!!

I tried out a SCS challenge last night, it was a challenge to break out any little mini stamps that you had and incorporate them into a card. I chose some stamps I had gotten at Michael's (the $1.50 ones), and I used a set that had 3 little flowers together believe it came from the set with "Girlfriends" in it. I stamped 5 of these set of 3 flowers in a row, then I stamped 3 more flower sets and cut them out. Next, I took those set of 3 that I had cut out and put a glue dot on them so it would pop off the page. I then added some blue sky around the flowers using my "Pebbles" Chalk set, and I also used the green chalk from the same set and made grass. I then glues the flowers onto a pink (Blush linen cardstock that I got from "Carousel Rubberstamps"), then attached the pink cardstock onto a piece of scrap blue cardstock that I had measured out. I guess you would call it the "layered" look :P! I had some "Embossed Box of Cards" by DCWV, that I had picked up at Michaels and hadn't decided what to do with these cards and so I decided that this was the time to use them. I used the card from the section titled "Flower Patch", and colored the flowers, by brushing my dew drop Versamagic Malted Mauve ink pad over the card. What an effect it gave the card, really neat...will have to keep doing this technique (old technique I know, but new to me). I then attached the layerd blue, pink and flower stamped paper onto the flower embossed card, then I attached a tag I had made using my SU tag punches and on the tag I stamped "Get Well Soon". I then had to decide what I wanted to attach the tag with, so I finally decided on a pink large brad and stamped some flower images from the SU set called "Polka Dots and Petals". And voila!
I don't have the picture for this card yet, will put it up as soon as I figure out how to make my scanner behave :)! Can't wait to show you the picture of this card!!

Have a great long weekend, for those of you who live in Canada :D!

A new card technique

Hey everyone I found a neat site, just wish they would update their site more frequently but anyways I came across it the other day. Or perhaps one of you knows how to get to the more recent posts, either way here's the link to the site: www.pagemaps.com/dec2006cardmaps.htm, I decided tonight I would do something new and found this card idea that caught my eye and thought it might be fun to try. Please, let me know what you think :)!

Girls/Mommies Night Out!

Last night, I went over to Julie's house for a cardmaking or paper project making session :)! I went with the intention of making some "Get Well" and "Sympathy" cards for my mother, but I somehow got into a funk or a creative rut...didn't feel like making that kind of card. So, I decided to stamp a few images from a few of my friends stamp sets that I didn't have :)! I did make one Thinking of you card, a sympathy card and a get well card, but it wasn't what I had planned to do.

Anyways, it was a wonderful time out with fellow stamping/card making addicts :p! Julie had yummy coffee cake there to eat, with some yummy frozen yogurt and some fun adult conversation ( I am used to 5 year old, 3 year old and 5 mos old kinda chat) so it was a great night :)! I think I stayed until 11 p.m., I would have stayed a bit longer if I lived closer but I live 1/2 hour or so away from Julie. Here are the cards or the start of my cards I did make last night :)!

Thanks Julie for the great night out!

One of my cards for a technique swap I joined!

This card I made is a tri-fold card, I needed to make 3 varying cards using 3 different techniques. So I decided on a tri-fold card for my first technique, for my second technique I used double stamping (since I hadn't really gotten into this or felt I was good at it, thought it was high time I got to mastering it), and for my third technique I did something simple...I used one of my tools I hadn't used yet, that I found the other day cleaning out my stamping stuff. Looking forward to getting cards in return :)! I

also joined a CCE (Canadian Card Exchange), I was talked into trying one by Julie, so I thought I would give one a try.

I got mail :)!

I entered an alter a box/container contest for some blog candy, I sent the picture of my stationary box that I made and gave my mom for her Birthday. The lovely lady who ran the contest was Tracy Houghton, and once the contest was done (I didn't win) but she still sent everyone something great in the mail. Today, I recieved a really beautiful card from Tracy ( would love to know how to do this technique she used with the tree image) and something neat inside the card :D! Here's what I found in my card:

I have 6 scalloped circle cut outs in pink, black, red, green, brown, blue and 6 oval scalloped cut outs. Plus I recieved 6 stamping bells stamped images, there are 3 images of the bella with some flowers (sorry not familiar with all the bella stamps, but will have to be soon because I love them :))! Three of the bella with a bear, here's the picture of them so that someone can help me out as to which bella's these are:
I must say that I really like the bella with the bear :), will have to get that one for the future for my daughter when she is older :)! Thank you so much Tracy for sending something out to those of use who entered your contest, it was nice to get something in the mail it brightened up my day.

Another Michael's Adventure!!!

*sigh!* The other day I posted that I had Michael's put some rubber stamps on hold for me (4 rubber stamps to be exact), this Michael's I am talking about right now is about 1 hour away or so away from me. I drove in there this morning because it is going to rain tomorrow, and I didn't want to drag 2 out of 3 kids in and out of the car in the rain (hard enough to do on a good sunny day). We got there, I went up to the cash and asked the cashier there...she got them out! I nearly lost it, nearly got angry, nearly threw a fit, nearly pulled my hair out...nearly threw them at the lady. The stamps they had saved were inkadinkado clear stamps, not even close to the one's I had asked for or explained in detail over the phone. I asked them if they had the clear rubber stamps by Studio G and they are like $1.50 a pack, 4 or so in a pack. The lady said they did, over there and pointed to my right...no explaination past that. I asked again where on the right, she said over there, I am still not seeing them...then a man came over and said I looked lost and if I needed help, I told him what I was looking for...too bad for me he doesn't know a lot of english or if he does he didn't seem to understand what I was saying. He found them for me, I got 8 sets of the pink Michaels clear stamps and 4 of the mounts! I went up to the cash, I told the lady there that I wasn't going to get those big stamps because that is not what I was looking for. She said "Oh, they weren't??" I said not even close to what I am looking for!! They are lucky they had some, or I think I might have asked for the manager or something!! Anyways, enough of my ranting/venting...anyone know how many pink sets there are in total?? I thank Kim and Julie to alerting me to the recent shipment of those stamps :D, they are nice one's :)!

My watercoloring technique!

This is what I use to watercolor :), I learned this technique from the staff of Carousel Rubber stamp store and am I glad I did learn it :)! I use the "Crayola markers", I draw on a piece of plastic of the color I want to paint with...then I use a small paint brush and a little bit of water. I run the paint brush across the ink on the plastic so it will pick up the ink, next I paint the stamped image. It is easy, it is cheaper than using actual watercolors, and it is sort of a fun twist to watercolor painting :D! Give it a try and let me know how it works for you :)!

Had fun with this card!

Once again the colors are off, sigh...gotta get this right!! For my base cardstock I used a brown color, and it came from a package of a variety of colors of cardstock I won from E-bay (doesn't have a name on it). Then I used the "Avacado green", and "Blush Pink Linen" for the frame behind the hedgehog (by Penny Black). I LOVE, Penny Black stamps they are so cute and great to play with when card making. I used Prisma Colored pencils to color in the hedgehog, I usually use watercolors to paint this guy in but thought I would go for a change. I don't know which technique I like best! then I used Dots, Dashes ribbon from Michaels for my bow on the card. I used white cloud ink from the dew drop inkpads you can get at the Carousel Rubber Stamp store, which I like to frequent whenever I can (basically whenever I don't have my children in tow). If you would like the name of this Penny Black stamp just leave a comment and I will let you know what it is :)!

Michael's is playing with my head!!!

Grrrr, I specifically called both our Michael's outfits in my area 2 days ago...they both said they didn't carry those "Must have" $1.50 clear stamps. They also didn't know what I was talking about, then I get a call from Julie (thanks Julie) saying they just got a shipment in last night. If only I could get through the phone lines like in the movie "Ghost Dad"!!! Well anyways, I managed to call this morning and had them put some on hold for me...good thing I live in a place no one can pronounce and it sounds like it is far away :)! Because if I didn't they wouldn't have saved some for me!!

Photo Wallet attempt # 2

This time instead of using what I usually use to stick pictures on my scrapbooking pages (Fiskars White Acid-free Stickers), I used Photo Mounting corners. I used them on my DH (darling husbands) grandmother's photo wallet, because I thought she would like to have to choice of what photo's to put in her album. I am starting to wish that I did the other 2 albums that way, because it turned out better I think...or it looked better. I will let you know what they think when they get them as to which type they preferred!! I will post a picture of the second album later once I get my film developed...I know, I know, I NEED a digital camera!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all you mother's out there, you are great women :) and hugs to you all :)!

My first photo wallet

Sorry for the poor picture quality, thank my scanner for that....I soooooo need to get a digital camera!! Anyways, this is my first photo wallet and it is for my mother in law...shhhhhh,lol, to all you family members of my extended family :)!

Here is the inside of this same photo wallet!

Oh boy looks like I need to make this picture a bit bigger...oh darn it all!! Sorry agian :(!

Photo Wallet Instructions!

Here are the instructions that I found to do a "Simplified Photo Wallet" and it was done by Kim Wilson and I found it on www.splitcoaststampers.com website :). According to several posts it was first presented at Leadership 2007 by Stampin' Up! You can also see many other versions of the photo wallet on the "Splitcoast" website that I have posted above. This is a smaller verison and it uses the measurements provided by Connie Stewart, but with simplified fold out panels. Apparently there is still room for 9 photos or journaling panels, but this is easier to make and uses less cardstock too :)!

Supplies:

  • Stamp sets (they used Office Accoutrements Stamp set)
  • Versamark, Marigold Morning, Rose Red inks (you don't have to use these color inks)
  • Brads of any colors (they used Turquoise brads, spiral punch, scissors and adhesive)
  • Cardstock: use any color you'd like (they used Marigold Morning): 4" by 11", score at 1 3/4, 2,5,8
  • 3 inside panels (they used Old Olive, Rose Red, Temp. Turqoise) 7 1/2" by 2 3/4", score in half at 3 3/4
  • Belly band (any coordinating color): 8" by 1"
  • Journaling blocks-Whisper White (They used 3 panels): 3 1/2" by 2 1/2"

Adhere inside panels (once you have decorated the outside to your liking), alternate directions. Fold up wallet. Fold belly band around wallet. Slide off. Punch 1/16" hold through both front layers. . Decorate belly band any way you would like :)! Have fun!

I am making 3-4 of these wonderful wallets for my mother, my mother in law, and my hubbies grandmother...for the first two it is for Mother's Day and for Nanny it is for her Birthday plus Mother's Day :)! I will post my creations later, once I get them done..I have to create them tonight when my kiddies are asleep :)!

Good finds :)!

What a beautiful warm sunny day :)! Had another playdate set up with some mom's, had some yummy chocolate cake to celebrate Jamie's Birthday. This afternoon I had some errands to run, so that I would have a gift for my mom, my mother in law and my DH (darling husbands) grandmother for mother's day gifts for the first two and a bday gift for Nanny. I was in Staples, and I was over at the cash paying when I saw these great magnetic tins for storing things in (like embellishments). The tins didn't come with the magnetic board for them to go on, but am sure it is easy to make or find one. $1.99 each for these tins. Will post a picture later of the one's I actually did get! Okay, next I went to Michael's...again as I was paying I looked up to see the cashier putting what I had gotten in a nice canvas bag that has "Michaels" written on the side...giving them away. Get there fast if you are interested, or call first...but then again they probably won't know what they are talking about :p!! Not to be negative towards Michaels but this has been my experience with them....not knowing a thing about anything, how frustrating is that!!

I asked the lovely staff there about those "G Studio" rubber stamps ( they used to have them)...now no one knows what I am talking about. I asked them if there was some way to get this product or other products in they don't carry, to my surprise they said yes. They wrote down all the info I had about them, and said if enough people called in or came in and requested it they would get them in. Lol, now time to make supper!!

A Bday Card!

Okay, so the coloring of this card is a little off but it still looks good :) or so I think so :)! This is a bday card for one of the mom's in a playgroup that I goto, her bday is tomorrow and so I had to make a card...never need much of an excuse to make a card :).
Here's what I did:
I am sorry to say that for the black and the base cardstock (blue) I don't know who they are by, because I won them on ebay for a good deal. The ribbon though is by "Dashes, dots and Checks", and I got it at Michaels (they are having a ribbon sale again this week, sorry Julie had to say it). Then I used my new stamp set called "Polka Dots and Petals", from SU (Stampin' Up!) I used my "Basic Grey Notch and Die" tool to make the corners on my "Happy Bday" piece indented. Can't wait to see what else I can do with this set of rubber stamps, looked on Splitcoast stampers but didn't see it there...didn't see the stamp set Definitely Decorative Daisy set either :(!
Well, that is it for me and my creative night...starting to see double...or is that triple...lol! Must go, even though I really want to stamp awhile longer!

Thanks for your ideas :)!

Thank you so much for your ideas, greatly appreciated :)! Here's what I came up with in the end, and I am pretty happy with how it turned out :)! The base of the card was made from some recycled paper I had (sorry don't know where I got it or what it is called), then I added the flowers with my white "VersaMagic dew drop cloud white" ink pad. I used the "Olivia" font from Cuttlebug, which I just love and I made two "Mom's" and layered them, and then I attached it all to my card base. Oh, and the stamp set was the Definitely Decorative Daisy" stamp set by SU (Stampin' Up).

Can't wait!!!!

Tonight I will continue to play with that DD set I have, and also I have 2 new toys and a new stamp set to try out. I got the Polka Dots and Petals set, and also the two tag punches :D from the spring mini 2007 catalogue :)! Might have to do some blog candy to see what people can come up with using this set :)! Keep you posted :D!

Start of a card

Okay, I am home for about an hour and then I have to go back to pick up my son at his pre-primary program. Anyways, here is the start of my 2nd Mother's Day card...let me know what you think and what card style I should use for it please :)!

For the base cardstock I used Avacado flat cardstock, that I picked up from "Carousel Rubber Stamp" store in my area (great little store, and if you have any questions about any product they will tell you if it is must have or a waste). The corners of this cardstock were done with the "Basic Greys Notch and Die" tool, and the stamp set that I used is called Definitely Decorative Daisy I believe. As for the rest of the card...I dunno yet :)! Gotta run...time to get my son :)!

Good Morning!!

This is just a quick post for now, heading out the door to a play date with some other friends since it is going to be a fantastic day :)! I found yet another fun tool that I have, that can make the same cuts as the SU corner ticket punch. This fun tool I haven't had the chance to really play with until the other day I saw it in one of my containers of stamping stuff. Then I thought to myself wow, I don't need that ticket punch, especially since I have this great tool :D! I tried it a few minutes ago, and it works really really well!! I am really looking forward to using this in other great projects...

Well, I am off...but hope to have a project or two up on here today or tonight so come back please and enjoy :)!

Beautiful Day +28 here

Wow, what a beautiful day :)! Too nice to be inside that is for sure, we didn't get home until about 4:30 p.m. because we were out enjoying the day...that and running errands. This morning was pre-school for my oldest, he had a fun time because it has been awhile since he has seen his "girlfriend". Once I dropped him off there, my other two children and I went for a walk in the local park called "Shubie Park" where we got to see ducks, dogs, little birds, squirrels scurrying about. Where'd the time go...it just flew by, back we went to pick up my son at Pre-school!! We went to Grandma's house for lunch, then she watched my middle child, while the other two came with me to get their needles updated. Oh what fun that was!!!! My oldest screamed like he was about to be murdered, and cried for a few minutes afterwards..poor guy, had to get a needle in both arms. The needles have put him to bed for the night, as soon as we got home he has been asleep in his bed...which is good because I can't carry him anymore! My dd had her needles and is going strong here next to me...oh wait a second, she is slowly getting sleepy...eyes are closing :D! Out, that's 2 down and one to go :P!! I also had my dd, in to see the dr. because of a rash on her chin/cheeks :(! It looks like she has ecema (how ever you spell that), it looks really bad this afternoon. My dr. just did a quick passing glance, not a good inspection of it...and just told me to keep it moisturized...this frustrated me...so I am now in search of a new family dr. Ugh! I think he was having an off kinda day! After the dr. appointment, I drove and got my other son at my mom's place...then we drove home to have supper which I really didn't want to make. I also didn't want to have left overs that needed to be eaten, but that's what I did...I heated them up for me...and made a grilled cheese sandwhich for Ethan.

Anyways, once I get the #3 off to sleep I am going to play around a bit with some stamps or I hope to :)!

Ribbon!!!!

Sorry, that one piece of ribbon isn't straight! Anyways, these two beautiful ribbons I got from Michaels a week or two ago. They are called "French Garden", there is 4 ft of ribbon on each of the spools and are like $2.99 each. Had to share, since I figured there are more people out there who are addicted to ribbon like Julie :)!

Also, in my last post with the movies I forgot to add Charlene's blog addy...so here we are:http://charlyscrazycorner.blogspot.com/. congrats on getting a blog up and running :D!

New way to do a tri-fold card

Thanks again Julie, for helping me get this card right :)! I am sorry that she stayed up till the wee hours of the morning doing it, but very grateful. So, here's my randition of thecard that Julie has the tutorial for on her blog (www.mutchtostamp.blogspot.com). I will definitely have to play around with this card a bit to make it just right... I used "Avacado flat cardstock" from "Carousel Rubber Stamp store" (www.carouselrubberstamps.com), and the patterned paper is something I picked up from Michaels but I can't seem to find the name of it :p!
Have a great day, and keep on stamping and creating!!!

Another tri-fold card

I first cut out the navy blue card stock to 3 1/2" by 10 1/2", then I cut out the cream colored cardstock into a square and also the patterned paper ( K I Memories) into a square. Next, I stamped out the pansy image onto cream colored cardstock and colored in the pansy using my "Tomba" markers. I then tied on the "Thanks" Ek success ribbon onto my card, then added the pansy using the mini pop dots. I am looking forward to trying some masking using this pansy stamp, and I may also use some more pop dots but we will see!!

Flip flops

Okay, it is time to break out my flipflops :)! Today was a cloudy day, but then became a nice warm sunny day with a few sprinkles of rain. I realized late last night that I only had a few (by few I mean 4) diapers left for Maiah, thought I had at least another package for her. Wrong!! I ran to town this morning and went to Lawtons (our local drugstore), and picked out some cheapos. I usually get her diapers from Walmart, I use the Parents Choice brand. It is practically the only brand that she isn't sensitive to. Once we were done there, I drove to the other neighbouring town which is like a 15 minute drive to go to the library there. My boys love reading books, so had to find one's about: " Little Critter", "Bob the Builder", Dinosaurs, trucks. Plus, they requested a movie or two :), so I picked out some and then came home. Did laundry, played with the kids a bit and of course made meals :p! Going to do some cards tonight :)!

Beautiful blanket

I had to post another post, just because I wanted to share with you this picture of a beautiful handmade blanket. My husbands Aunt Diane makes blankets for the new babies of the family, and they are very beautiful blankets...still using my sons blankets she made for my daughter. Anyways, we were at a local Christmas craft show in October or November and I came across a beautiful knitted blanket there...but they wanted like $80.oo for it. Aunt Diane said she could make that pattern, and it is such an old pattern but it is a pattern that I have grown up with in my family that my great great great Aunts used. So we snuck around the corner from that booth, while she copied down the number of rows/squares she would have to make, and the colors. We got the blanket recently, and WOW what a beautiful job!! I am glad that I am able to pass this beautiful pattern along to the next generation :)! Thank you again Aunt Diane for such a beautiful gift :)! Maiah just loves the blanket, we use it all the time!

Better Get Yourself to Carousel Rubber Stamp Store!!!

I went there and also heard through the grapevine that there are certain "Canadian colors" of cardstock that Carousel won't be carrying anymore....once it is sold it is gone. So I suggest if you are in need of a certain color hurry out...I like the color "Avacado" and also their "Blush Pink Linen" Cardstock. Just a tid bit I thought I had better pass on!!

New stamp I picked up

Okay, here is the little guy that I picked out the other day when I was out! My problem is that I don't know how to get the best image or what to use to color these house mouse characters in. I am in need of suggestions and I guess advice :)!
I cut this guy out once I stamped him...I am sort of happy with the coloring job, but thought I could get him to look a bit better.

Another Tri-Fold Card

This time I thought I would try something different with a tri-fold card, it probably isn't a new way to do this card to some of you, but thought I would give it a go. I had issues with the green ribbon but we won't talk about that one for now, give me a few hours then may be I will devulge the details :p! Here's a picture of my new tri-fold card:
I think I found my new fav. card to make...but we will have to see!!

My oldest

*Sniff, Sniff* My first born has started Pre-primary yesterday...it is a 10 session program that runs until May 31st. He started it yesterday and LOVES it :)! He is going to the pre-primary Mondays and Wednesday afternoons, then he is going to Preschool on Tuesday/Thursday mornings. He loves both the programs alot, and asks me when he gets to go next when the school session is over. Hard to believe he will be starting school in the fall!!
He is excited about starting school, but at the same time he is sad about going because his little girlfriend (he met at preschool) won't be going to his school. Lol, he apparently is very very much in love with this little girl (Julie's daughter) and tells me that they are very serious. They are planning their wedding already, the little girl has her grandmother on standby to find her the perfect dress and new tiara for this big day. Isaac has already apparently started making wedding invitations, and is learning about princesses so that he knows how to be a good husband (this is what he is telling me at meal time or whenever he gets a chance). The other day he told me that he has to ride around the bottom of a castle on a horse, then climb up the stairs (or ladder) to rescue the princess and kiss her to get her to come with him. Too cute eh? He then leaned over and said, "because that is what is done!!
Had to share, thought it would bring smiles to you all :)!

My Accordian Card

Hope everyone is having a great day, our day started out kinda grey but now is a hot sunny late afternoon/early evening. I attempted to make an accordian card, here is the link that I got the directions on how to make it: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/accordian.php

I am pretty happy with how it turned out, please excuse the poor picture quality that my picture has and the ribbon isn't actually not off like it looks like it is in the picture :(....here's the picture.

I think I would make more of the tri-fold cards, and perhaps even save this card for special occasions because you need matte board for it. They suggested using cereal box kind of cardboard, but I think the matte works better! Well, off to find another fun new card to make...happy card making :D! I forgot to mention that I haven't designed the inside yet, because I am waiting on my SU order to come in that has the 2 tag punches and set of stamps too. I am itching to get them :P! I will post a picture once I get it done...

My Tri-fold Card Attempt!

Here is my first attempt at a trifold card. I used 3 1/2" by 9 1/2" piece of rose colored cardstock for my base. Then for my patterned paper I used a bit of my 12 by 12 sheet of "Young Girl Flowers Flat Paper" cut, which I cut into a 3 1/2 " square and then cut in half. For the inside I cut 2 different colored pieces of cardstock to fit inside, then used the butterfly stamp from my SU set called "Watercolor Minis". The ribbon I used is called "Dashes, Dots and Checks ribbon which I got from Michaels when they were having a ribbon sale :D! Here are the pictures for the card:
