ER

I was awoken from my sleep at about 4 a.m. , by my DH (Darling Husband) who was moaning and he was holding his chest....I came to a bit more and asked him what was going on. He told me his chest pain was about a 9 on a scale of 1-10! I told him that we were going to ER, I called my parents to come out to watch the children for me. I took him to the hospital, the doctors told us it wasn't his heart but it is pneumonia and he can't goto work until Wednesday...I asked if Maiah should get checked out because she had basically the same symptoms he was having. They said take her IWK, so I drove my DH home and my parents took the boys to their house while I took Maiah into the IWK. We found out there that she has the children form of Bronchitis, and that she seems to be a very sensitive soul in terms of things irritating her skin etc. They told me to keep an eye on her, in case a fever develops and other symptoms too...if she does get those symptoms then to bring her back into ER.
Once I was done there, I had to go get my DH's perscription filled and then some groceries too...then I picked up the boys from my parents house and went home. I am exhausted, and am about to goto bed! Will do a better post for tomorrow :)! Nite all, zzzzzzzzzzzz.....

Tune

Yesterday, when I was taking my poor little sick goopy eyed daughter in to see the doctor I was listening to the radio. I was listening to CBC's radio show called "Freestyle", it is my favorite radio shows, and they played a neat tune for children. So if you have children, you might want to check out "See You On The Moon:Songs for kids of all Ages" by the Great Lake Swimmers. What a fun song for children!! Maiah was crying in the car, and this song stopped her...she started cooing at it.
I also recommend you listen to "Freestyle" on Cbc radio at like 2 p.m. :) (I think that is when it is on...).

for my little girl!

I have done a cross-stitch for each of my children, and here is one I am doing for Maiah but I am adapting this one to suite her :)! The first picture is of the actual cross-stitch pattern, and the other picture is of what I have done so far :)! Sorry for the shadow on my cross-stitch and the poor picture of both, silly scanner...

My Little Exploer!

On Sunday morning my DH and I were doing a lot of household chores that hadn't gotten done...yes, we were putting them off...sigh...but who doesn't put certain chores off?? We were getting help from our two boys (5 and almost 3), I just happened to walk past our back sliding doors and this is what I saw :).

He is a explorer, a scientist, a cause and effect child but oh the fun and joy it brings him to be able to explore his world like this :).
Have a great day :)!

another fun project for coasters

It's me again :), couldn't stay away from posting again today :p! Here is another project, that I haven't tried but am going to soon...I found it in the February 2005 issue of "Paper Craft Magazine. Ohhhhh, the possibilities with this one :)! Great gift idea too :)!

My Stationary Box Set

I wanted to share with you all a fun project that I got from my good friend Julie, I gave this wonderful stationary box set to my Mom for her Birthday. Here is Julies blog addy, so you can get the instructions on how to make this and see the one she made as well : www.mutchtostamp.blogspot.com

I got the matt board from "Michael's" craft store, $18.00 for 32*40 sheet...if you are lucky and have a "Loomis and Toole" by you, I would suggest you go there because they are a bit cheaper in price. Lol, I am sad to say that I can't remember what stamp set I used...borrowed them from Julie though. I used navy blue ribbon that is see through to tie this box together, but would recommend that you use non see through ribbon because this ribbon liked to fray a bit.
Here are the pictures of the nine cards that I made to go with this box, I also made stationary with the same stamped image as on the box :)! Oh yeah, I almost forgot...Julie also had a way on her blog to make nine cards really quickly, you take one piece of paper and cut out the shapes. Then you glue them onto the corresponding card...anyways, you will have to check it out :)!

~This is a "Thinking of You" card, and it is blank inside. I stamped the flower onto a piece of strong white cardstock, then O cut out the image and attached it with a gold brad.

~ This card is also blank inside, and all the stamps I used are SU stamps :)! I also used vellum for the tag, one round gold brad and 3 gold heart brads as well.

~ This card is a "Get Well Soon" card, also blank on the inside. I think I am better at making the cards than coming up with the greetings/sayings for the inside of the cards. Going to have to work on that I guess...

~ This card is a good card to send to someone whom you feel could use some cheering up :)! It has the word "cherish" stamped on it...

~ I really enjoyed making this card, it was something different and I liked using the cut out flower idea on several of the cards.

~ Lol, I am not one for using ribbon in my card creations...but am getting into using it...here is one of my 3rd creations using ribbon :).

Okay, that's it for now..wow, that took awhile to get done :p! Have a great day :)!

Let's Get This Blogging Started :p!

Well, here goes nothing....my first blog attempt :)!

Today, was Pre-school day but the boys are just getting over an eye/ear infection and so I thought another day at home would be good. The idea of staying home from Pre-school was not a well liked one, because my 5 year old was going to miss seeing his little girlfriend. He was quite upset by this, and told me that if he didn't go she might find someone else! I explained to him that we didn't want to give his little girlfriend this eye/ear infection, because that is more of a reason for her to find someone else than him not showing up at pre-school. He just laughed, and told me that I was a silly mommy!

While the boys were playing with blocks, Maiah was having a sleep (mmmm....sleep, oh how I miss it) I found a cookbook that I haven't used in a ong time...or perhaps at all. I made "Apple Pie Muffins", sounds kinda nasty...but my oh my they are good. Here's the recipe for them and a picture :)!

Here is the recipe:

2 1/4 c. all purpose flour

1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar

1tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 egg

1c Buttermilk (1 tbsp. vinegar into a measuring cup, and add enoug milk to make one cup...let stand for 5-10 min.)

1/2 c. butter melted

1 tsp vanilla

2 c. diced peeled apples

topping:

1/2 c. packed brown sugar

1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans

1/3 c. all purpose flour

1 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg

2 tbsp butter melted

  • Topping: In a small bowl, stir together brown sugar, pecans/walnuts, flour and cinnamon/nutmeg. Drizzle butter over it, toss with fork...set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, ans salt. Whisk together egg, buttermilk, butter, and vanilla; pour over dry ingredients. Sprinkle with apples;stir just until dry ingredients are moistened.
  • Spoon into large greased or paper-lined muffin cups;sprinkle with topping. Bake in 375 degree oven for about 25 minutes or until tops are firm to touch.
  • Makes 16-18 muffins.

Lol, enough for my first post I think :)!
