crazy card maker

The crazy card maker would be me, I have needed a lot of cards lately and so I have gone crazy making tons of cards...which ok by me since it doesn't take much to get me to make a card :). The first card I needed was a wedding card for a good friend of my dh, she is getting married tonight but as it turns out I cannot go since my little sweetpea (dd) is sick and won't let me out of her sight. But my dh is going to goto the wedding with his parents, while I stay home and make my little one feel better. I also am trying to get rid of one of those nasty sinus pressurized headaches...or is it a migrane? The "Bride/groom" stamps and the heart stamp came from Studio G clear acrylic stamp set from Michael's, I LOVE it :)!!!

The second card that I made was from a MFT stamp set called "Serenity Now", that I borrowed from Kim but will HAVE to get. It is a stamp set that is all about Yoga, my great Aunt is into the yoga thing along with some of her friends and so I just HAD to make her a card. Well, once she opened up her card she asked me to make 2 more cards for her to give to her other yoga pals :)! So The first card is for my Aunt, the other two cards are for her friends :)! Hey Julie, I layered the last two cards...more so than I usually would actually. Thank you Kim for letting me borrow this set :)!

I used versamark ink pad to stamp the leaf sprig from the "Embrace Life" stamp set from SU onto the purplish colored cardstock. The patterned paper that you see, that I used as one of my layers, was from the "Asian" patterned paper slab that I got from Michael's. Not too sure if I am a fan of this color, especially in the picture, it makes it look almost neon and it was far from being neon in real life.

I used a smaller style card for this one I made, it worked out well :)! I did a different layering for this card than the other cards...I also used a lot of dimensionals for this layering. I was really happy with this card, but I think the next time I would add one one of those coins that you can get!

This card I made was a card for one of my cousins, his wife just had a baby and my mom wanted to send them a cute card. So I made this cute card for my mom to give my cousin and his wife...LOVED this patterned paper, I have seen several of you bloggers use it on some of your cards.

The next card I made was a for a good friend of mine, whom I hadn't seen since Jr. High days and we bumped into each other at the grocery store one day4 months ago...they have been going through a tough time lately. Anyways, I thought they could use one of my cards to cheer them up :)! I used the SEE D's Coffee Stamp set, since my friend and I go for a lot of coffee's together...can't get enough of this stamp set!! Oh yeah, the sentiment that I used on the coffee cup came from the fun retired SU set called "Fancy and Flexible Phrases".

Last night's SU night at Kim's...Louise was hostess

I made several cards over the past couple of days for several of the gals in our usual SU night crew, they either have a birthday coming up or they had one (tee hee, late I know...sorry). Here is the Birthday card that I made for Kim (over at www.creative-diversions.blogspot.com ...sorry I had to do it this way since the "link" button is trying to test my patience). The butterfly stamp is from the "Stamp Barn" company, and I got it over at Carousel. I embossed it with gold embossing powder, and cut out the 4 stamped butterfly images. Then stuck 2 of the four butterfly's onto white cardstock, and then used little dimensionals for the other 2 butterfly's so they would create a 3d look to the card. I cased this card idea from beate (www.beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com), I found this card on SCS site (love that site).

This next card that I made was for Deborah, and I used the stamp set by Basic Grey to make this card. I also used my Creative Memories Corner rounder punch to make the corners rounded. The corner flower you see there, actually is only stamped once, even though it looks like I stamped it twice and then raised the middle part. The patterned paper I got from Photo Memories I believe...and the inks I used were SU Bravo Burgundy and Archival jet black ink.

The third card I made was for Val, her birthday is coming up but I didn't think I would see until after her Birthday, so I gave her card to her last night. I used the SU "True Friend" stamp set to make this card, and the patterned paper came from Photo Memories. I really LOVE that "True Friend" stamp set, and if you think you have run out of ideas for ways to use this card...pop on over to SCS to check out the hundreds of pictures of cards with this set. I now check out SCS before I buy any stamp sets...I check out the card samples in the gallery according to the stamp set and it either makes or breaks the deal. Lol! I made one for Louise too, but as it turns out I didn't take a picture of it to show you guys. Hmmm...I really thought I did!!
This next card I made was for Julie, because she was at Michael's the other night and she came across the Cuttlekids dies that are usually $16.99 or there abouts. She picked up 2 sets for me for $3.00, and I wanted to thank her for them. LOVE these 2 stamp sets that I used for this card :)! I used my "Touch Markers" to color in the cup and the coffee in the cup and the cup stamp set is from SEE D's and the little sentiment and the coffee bean stamps were from the Hero Arts clear stamp sets that come with a few little "bling", the set is called "Sparkle and Clear" stamp sets.

Last night was our monthly SU night get together, lol, and we had a challenge for each other which was to onto one of our blogs and case a card. So, I cased Julie's card...and here is my version of her card! Love how this card turned out :)! So we draw names, and whose ever name we draw, it is their card that we get to keep from the challenge. I drew Julie's name, and I believe she said that she cased Kim's blog for her card. Here is the card that Julie made :)! Thank you Julie, I really like it :)!

The first thing we made was a cute little candy holder, it would be perfect for a wedding favor or some sort of special event. The second picture is of this candy holder opened up, cute eh?? Kind of hard to see, so I hope that one of the other girls will have better pictures of our candy holder on their blogs. Sorry, about that!!!

The second thing we made was this really beautiful card with a slot to put either money or a gift card in. We used the SU "One of a Kind" stamp set for this project, gotta love this set too...it is on my wish list. We also used the SU "Stitched" background stamp, which I had to order this time around...couldn't let that sit another month :)!

The final card we made, was for our Dad's or men in our lives...hence the "golf" theme...but several of us didn't know any guy that golfed. So those who didn't have guys that golfed were going to take their cards home and stamp something else on them.
Our night was full of laughs, and near trips off of "steep banks", and good food too thank you so much Louise and Kim for having us over :)!

So this morning, I had to make a quick Birthday card for one of oldest son's best friends from school. They are having his Birthday party this afternoon as soon as they get off the bus, lol, so I needed a card. I made this card using one of the "Cuttlekid" dies that Julie got for me...too cute :)! LOVE how this card turned out, but I think I would make it a larger card that what I made this one. Anyways, we will see if the little boy will like it :)!

Take care everyone and that is my creative catch up for you all :)!

plastic eggs

on her mouth...

I am sure that there are thousands of pictures like these one's that I took of my dd, I know that my parents have a few like this one of me probably even close to the same age she is. The only difference is that I had the egg over my nose and I was holding it with my mouth, my dd seems to have gotten the egg stuck on her mouth. Lol, had to share...

Have a great night :)!!

this was too funny

o

Yesterday morning we tried to vacuum our house, well our dd wouldn't let us vacuum unless she was involved. Which meant that she had to be holding the vacuum handle...so here is what my dh came up with to get the kitchen vacuumed and boy was it funny. I couldn't stop laughing, because this is how he vacuumed pretty much the whole house...with our dd in his hands like this and him steering it all. I had to share it these pictures with you all :)!
I have made a card for a challenge that Louise has given us for our next SU night, which is tomorrow night and it was to goto one of our friends blog and case one of their cards. So, I can't share this card with you until Tuesday morning...

Hope all is well with you :)!

Friend...

Another friend from church is going through some tough times lately, it seems everytime I see her she tells me of another thing that has either happened to her or someone she was close to. It seems that she has the worst bad luck of anyone that I know, anyways...I felt that she was in need of some cheering up and so here is the card that I made for her :). I brought it with me to church this morning, but she wasn't there and so I am going to mail it tomorrow or Tuesday...

I just LOVE this "True Friend" stamp set, and I have my eye on the "Always" set too now...will have to get that at our next SU stamping night :)! Thank you soooooo much Kim for those 2 sheets of the "Cosmo Cricket" pattnerned paper, I used it for this card. Gotta luv this paper :)!

Happy stamping :)!

Late Mother's Day card

This card is for my Birthmother, I know it is late, I don't keep in touch with her at all...but I felt I had or should make her a card. Yes, I have met her but felt it best if I didn't keep in touch but something is nudging me to send off a card...so here I am making a card for her...

I cased the card from Holly McMillen from SCS site, but I changed it up a bit...to get the look I was looking for. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope that you are having a good weekend :)!

Thank you card

Hi, everyone tis me me slacking blogger...lol! Sorry about this lack of creative creating going on here, just seemed to need to put the blogging on hold for a few days and it also seems that I have once again misplaced my mojo. I just dunno where it could be, it was there one minute and *poof* gone...but the good news is that I think I have found it :).

I am hubby, and 2 kids free this weekend :)! My dh, our 2 sons, my inlaws and some of their friends have all gone camping/white water canoeing this weekend. It is pouring rain all day today, perhaps even into tomorrow...they left early this morning and won't be back until Monday sometime. SOOOOOoooooo, my dd (who is now 17 mos) and I are having a girly weekend together :)! So far I feel lost without my other two, I keep looking around me, checking the car for them, doing continous head counts and waiting for the slightest thing to set my almost 4 year old son off. None of that happened this morning, it was nice...although I did feel that I had to run through a store screaming at the top of my lungs and just throw a tantrum just cuz I miss my sons. Don't worry, I didn't do that...

Anyways, I recieved 2 diaper boxes and 2 bags full of girly clothes for my dd from my sister in laws sister the other week. I felt that this deserved a wonderful fun card, whimsical or something...so here is the card that I created for her. I made this last night when 3 of us went over to Julie's place for a crafty night, and no it actually wasn't a SU night...lol, I think all our hubby's breathed in a sigh of relief there. Thank you so much Julie for the fun night, oh yeah and the YUMMY ice cream cake that she made for us :)! I added some lovely crystals to this card since the girls saw it last night, this card looked like it was missing something and I must say that the crystals were the missing element to my card.

I also needed a sympathy card for a couple that attend our church that we goto, the husband's mother died last week and I wanted to do a different kind of card...so here is what I came up with. She apparently had been sick for a little while, plus, they just had given up their grandson for adoption, whom they have been raising since birth. So they are having a hard time lately, as one could imagine!

I am also in the process of trying out a new technique that I spotted over on Splitcoast and also on Karen B. Barber's blog ( I will find her link to her blog for you all and will post it), the technique is called "Black Magic". What an amazingly beautiful technique, and it is one of those "oh I gotta try that" kind of techniques and it is one that looks harder to do than it actually is. Gotta love that kind of project too :)! So here is my first attempt at the "Black Magic" technique, and I have to say that I didn't use metallic colored pencils for this technique which other's have been using. I used my prisma colored pencils, but you do have to press kind of hard to make sure you get the nice deep colors :D...let me know what you think??

Happy Stampin and creating :)! if you live in Nova Scotia hope you are staying warm and dry :)!

My Mother in Laws Mother's Day card

Oops, I forgot the card that I made for my Mother in law...tee hee!! Okay, so here is the card that I made for her...I loved making this card, and how it turned out...I cased this card from Splitcoaststampers site. I unfortunatly don't know who the card was by from which I cased my card from....sorry bout that :(!

Happy Stamping :)!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to you all :)!! Wow, what a busy mother's day we had here in my house...it started out with a yummy church breakfast at our church, then the churhc bought all the mom's a flower (Carnation). Then we went out for a buffet at Oak Island Inn with all of my dh's extended family, what a fun time we had, the food was great and all the children were well behaved too.

While I am here telling you about Mother's Day, I have to tell you that I made my mil (mother in law) the same thing as I made my mom for Mother's day and she just loved it. I got a placemat with a picture of a Strawberry on it, from my son...he made it at school, I think he might have been learning about abstract art. I will post a picture of it later for you to see, I am sure Beate could use it for her Inspired Challenge, lol :)! My dh, got me a nice card (really was hoping he'd make one) and he bought me 12 of the Touch markers..they are exactly like the Copic markers but CHEAPER :)! Okay, so I did buy the markers for him to give to me...but they are beautiful markers, recommend checking them out :)!

Here is the card I made for my dh's grandmother for Mother's day, it went along with a bunch of flowers and plants in a woven basket.

Hope all of you had a wonderful Mother's Day :)!

Mother's Day gift for my Mom

Not to worry, my mother doesn't go online or blog or touch a computer and so I am safe :)! Well, for now anyways...until my Dad the computer scientist teaches her to use one...won't be anytime soon though :).

I had a hard time this year coming up with something to give my Mother and my Mother in law! That is because they already have my coasters, cards, boxes...so I wanted something that they could really enjoy. Soooo, here is what I came up with...I went to Michael's and got a memory serving tray. Then I took out the 4 picture matt frame that was in it, and created my own thing. I am soooooooo happy with this, giddy with glee...ok, perhaps I exagerated ajust a bit :p! I am pretty happy as to how it turned out...and now I am moving onto the next project for my Mother in law...can't say what it is I am doing because she does occasionally look at my blog :). Sorry :)! I also have to start making my cards too :p!

Happy Stamping :), and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY !!!!

5...4...3...2...1...BLAST OFF

I wanted to make some fun Birthday invitations for my soon to be 4 year old's Birthday party, so I cased a fun "Magic Slider card" from Julie's blog...and she has different measurements for the card (I liked better than the SCS size card)...and she has the link for the Splitcoast version. I first was going to do a train theme...with the train on the front of the card, and then the two ends slide out to make the train longer (clear as mud right?)...couldn't get the stamp set to me in time. I then thought about a rocket ship invitation...it didn't turn out as cool as I wanted it to be but I am happy with how it turned out...I think my problem was that I didn't have the patience to make the card more elaborate. Love the Amuse rocket stamp though, it is too cute, and am looking forward to using it again on other boys cards :)!
You kind of have to fiddle around with these cards to get the plastic bag part of the card to slide smoothly...otherwise your sliding portions will get stuck and or your card will rip. I suggest making this card when you have a lot of patience, perhaps in the morning hours...when you are fresh and rejuvinated feeling.

Sorry, I haven't posted anything in a few days but I have been busy with playdates...wedding receptions of good friends, and taking my middle child to the duty dr. I am hoping to post more this week....as I have several Mother's Day items to make :)!

Happy Stamping :)!
