Ugh

Just when I thought I would be able to get a card making session in, during nap time here...things got not so good. I had full intentions of getting several cards made today, but I woke up with what appears to be a nasty stomach bug :(! So needless to say there goes my card making time, and I spent most of my day on my futon, with the children sitting somewhere around me either snuggling or playing with a great toy I had when I was a little girl. This toy are a bunch of cardboard boxes that look like bricks, well the boys just loved playing with them and boy was I thankful I had something new for them to enjoy. Think you can get them at Toys R' Us! Anywho, sorry for not a long post or no new card projects...I will get some done soon.

Hugs,
Catherine

My cabinet!

My sister in law and her DH (darling husband), were here visiting us (they live 3 hours from us) and I just happened to notice that they had a beautiful cabinet in the back of their car. I told them that it was a nice cabinet, and where were they going to put it...that sort of thing...they then told me they were getting rid of this cabinet. They then asked if I wanted it, I said "Yes, for sure...I could def. find a good home for this thing!" So they loaded it into my car, and I took it home and had it mounted on the wall...here is the cabinet:
It looks not straight in this picture but it is! Anyways, I use this beautiful cabinet to store some of my stamping supplies, to show off some of the cards I make. Good find if I do say so myself :)!

I am

My Bad!!Sorry everyone for not posting the past couple of days, but I have been having some issues with my blog. I wanted to have a new template, so I went on a great search and found the one that is posted there now. Then I thought wow, it would be great to have a slide show of my pictures rather than having them up the side where it takes up room. Well, let's just say that this task is harder than you think...and I have spent 2 days trying to figure out how to get the stupid www.slide.com to work for me. I gave up on that site, now working on a different slide show...let's hope this one doesn't test my patience! Anywho, I will or should be back posting on here soon...sorry for the lack of posts. Might just have to do some blog candy or something....hmmm.

Hugs to you all :)!

Good morning all!

I am going to work on some cards today that I will post on here and explain what I did, first attempt! Before I do that here are some more pictures of my children...more recent than the last one's I posted.

Off to do some cards and a technique I haven't done before!

Tagged!!!

It is my first time being tagged!! This time it is like a "get to know you game" so I am going to tell you 7 things about myself and then you must send it off to others to do the same. Here goes nothing!!!

~ I am a stay at home mom of three beautiful children (5 years-boy, 2 1/2 years-boy, and a 4 mos old-girl)!
~ I am also addicted to rubberstamping, cardmaking and can't ever seem to get enough!! I have come to the conclusion I need to win the lottery or something, but in order to win the lottery one has to play it...and I don't so the chances of me winning are slim :p!

~I just started to love to cook, sweets that is...once I had my friends Julies muffins and her ice cream cake recipe...I can't stop cooking :p! Now I have the yummy chocolate chip cookie recipe that I love to bake too :D, which I have here on my blog :)!

~ I used to work in the daycare scene for several years, but then moved down to the south shore of Nova Scotia (Barrington Passage) and I became pregnant with my first child..so the daycare days ended.
~I love to find good pink cute girly clothes for my lil one...dunno, guess you can say I am addicted to "Frenchies" too :P!

~I love to go camping, canoeing (white water canoeing that is), and hiking!

~I have a bad left knee, that has had 2 surgeries on it already and is starting to give me grief again...silly knee!

I think I might have to tag:

New fun Gym

For March break, I went to check out this new gym in my area...it is called "On The Grow Family Gym". It is an indoor play area for children from infancy to about 5 years of age, there is a jungle gym, toys, foam climbing pads etc. and the best part it isn't expensive to do. I paid $13 for my 2 boys to go, you can stay as long as you like but we stayed only for an hour and a half because it was starting to get kinda crowded in there. Here are the pictures of this adventure we had:

Going to definitely go back there :)!

Local Children's hospital should offer frequent flyer points :P!

Yep, it was one of those weekends that I should have just stayed in the city because of 3 different trips into the local children's hospital. It all started Friday morning, my dd (Darling daughter) woke up with a nasty high temp of 104 and she also started to throw up too. I couldn't get her temp. down so off we went, my fd (family dr.) told me that 4 mos old and younger if they have any sort of high temp they should be taken in to the children's hospital to get checked out. They just said she had a cold/flu thing that was going around the community, to keep giving her Motrin, to bring her back if she got worse etc.
I just got home from that, not even a half an hour home when my 3 1/2 year old son was playing on the rocking chair in our living room when he fell and hit his head on our brick hearth. It looked worse than what it was, but head wounds tend to bleed a lot anyways...makes mom's heart skip a beat that is for sure!! Once I got that all cleaned up and the trail of blood he left behind, not even an hour later he fell again...this time he split his chin open. This I thought needed stitches or that glue that they use for some wounds...so off we went back to the IWK (children's hospital). He didn't need stitches or glue, but was sent home to have close monitering over the next 48 hours!
Saturday morning my 3 1/2 year old son woke up at 4:30 a.m., he started to get sick, and he also had a high fever 104.5 (sigh). He complained of a headache all day, a tummy ache and he wasn't acting like his high energy self (otherwise known as Photon boy)! I got concerned it was his head injuries that caused the headache and throwing up, back we went to the hospital at the request of the dr. on duty at the hospital. I got there at 9:30 or so at night, we were to be seen pretty much right away, when all of the sudden 7 ambulances came in...so we got bumped! My son got worse as the night went on, he was kinda out of it due to the fever, but the nurses kept bringing him popsicles and juice to keep him hydrated. They also gave him a large dose of Tylenol, within an hour or so he was back to his normal self, and they said it was a viral thing too...not the head injuries (Thank goodness for that). We didn't get home until 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning!
Needless to say I am one tired momma, and I could go for a long winters nap or I should say spring nap! Ethan is fine now, Maiah has a nasty cough that is getting worse :(! I have a sinus cold *boo hoo*!
Well, I am staying low here today...although it is a nice day out there...opening up all the windows...hot out there :D!

Have a great day :D!

Hugs

Diana's SU night!

Thursday, April 19th I attended a friends Stampin' Up night at her house with some other friends. for those of you who don't know what Stampin' Up is, it is a company that makes supplies to scrapbook or make any paper project and also makes rubber stamps for any occasion. I am one of those addicted to creating handmade greeting cards, not so much into the scrapbooking thing...but I am going to have to start on my daughters scrapbook soon! Here is one of the cards we made that night:

Here is the door prize that I won:

~ This is a little booklet, resembles a matchbook but when you open it up it has a tiny pack of "Trident" bubble gum in it. Apparently you can only get this tiny pack of gum in the States! Cute eh?

Here is the inside of the booklet:

The little oval slit there or hole is where you slide your package of gum in. Cute eh? Will try to do my first tutorial of this later, once I try to create one of these myself!!

The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe EVER!!!

I have been looking everywhere for the BEST chocolate chip cookie recipe for awhile now, but with no success. Until now :)! My mother in laws best friend makes the best chocolate chip cookies, she makes these cookies 2 times a week...or she used to when she had all 3 of her boys home.
Here is the recipe:

1 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
mix together
add 2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
mix together
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
add chocolate chips
mix together

Heat oven at 350 degrees and cook for 6 minutes or so.

Enjoy!!

Teething!!

Well, my poor little girl is teething. Easter Sunday her first tooth decided to make it's appearance and then shortly after that tooth number two decided to follow...luckily they are both on the bottom. But ouch, none the less!! Here are some pictures of her teething:

"Hmmm, can I fit both my fists in my mouth?"

The best teething stuff isn't tylenol, it is something called "Camillia", a homeopathic medicine and it works better than Tylenol!! I have used it on all 3 of my children, and my friends also swear by it!

Sorry everyone for not being online to blog daily for your enjoyment, but my computer so nicely decided to go postal on me and not let me go online. I believe that my computer and my two sons are in cahoots :p! Either way I am now officially online again and have some catching up to do, so please bear with me and my posts etc.
