Card Challenge :)!

Here is the site that I got the layout/color challenge from, I didn't have those colors that they wanted for me to use...so I used my own colors, but did stick to the layout :D! I also got a better picture of my card too, sigh...took a bit of playing with but I got it in the end :D!

For this card I used blue cardstock (base cardstock) from "Carousel Rubberstamp store", some embossed cardstock from Michaels that I picked up one day from them. I also used some blush cardstock from "Carousel"for the tag part of the card. as well and some white linen cardstock from "carouse"l too :)! I used "Go With the Grain" brown ribbon and also my fiskars corner punch for the corners of the blush colored tag. :)! I used the stamp from the "Best Blossom" Stampin' Up!" set, I don't know if any other flower stamp would have worked as well with this layout. Sorry for the very vague post of this challenge layout that I did, didn't have my morning Tims yet :p! I looked back at what I had posted, and felt I had to fix it :)!

Tracy's June Happiness Giveaway Challenge entry!

Here is my entry for Tracy's June Happiness Challenge, I really enjoyed doing this challenge :) , thank you Tracy for this challenge! I think if I were to use this sketch again (I plan on it), I am going to use a colored piece of cardstock instead of the cream colored cardstock that I used. I also felt that it needed something in the right hand corner, so I added this stamped image from the "Doodle This" stamp set :)! As for this bella's name I can only take a wild guess at her name, lol...just became familiar with these bellas :D!

I am sorry I haven't posted anything the past few days, but my everyday activities etc. had to be put on hold due to a scary incident involving my soon to be 6 mos old daughter. Wednesday night, I put her on a playmat with a teething toy...bent over to pick up another toy for her when she started to cry. I turned around, she was crying a lot and was pink in the face from crying...I picked her up to console her and she seemed to calm down a little bit, when all of the sudden...she went limp, her eyes rolled back into her head and she stopped breathing. It seemed like forever, but it was only a few seconds when she came to and she looked shocked (almost to say what was that?). She turned pale, and wasn't acting like herself...she did it 2 more times :(! I tore her off to the local children's hospital, where she was admitted immediately for obeservation and several tests. All her tests came back fine (she had a CAT scan, EEG, blood tests, urine/stool samples etc.)...so they said it might be reflux or even something called White faint. She is going for more tests this week and next, but they discharged her last night. My two great friends Julie and Diana, came in with some goodies for me sane :)! They brought with them a cute "Faith" rock, chilli, cardmaking/rubberstamping mags (even the SU catalogue), and a beautiful candle and also a beautiful card. Thank you guys for coming in last night even though the visit was short since we were discharged...it meant a lot :D!

This is the view that my son has from his school that he is starting to attend in the fall, wow...not many children can say that they have a view from their school like this. Had to show you all this view :)! I love this view....

My candle tutorial

I made these three beautiful candles for a friend of mine who is getting married, someone is having a shower for her to which I was invited and I needed a gift. I am also giving her 2 gift cards to Superstore so that she can get her first load or second load of groceries or other things she might need. Then I wanted her to have something else to open, and so I made her these candles :)!

Step1: Find nice white round candles at your local dollar store, and get tissue paper the same color of your candle.

Step2: Stamp your image onto your tissue paper, then cut it out.

Step3: Use two way glue (I used "Glue Stick" from Michael's) to attach your stamped image onto your candle, it worked just as well as the two way glue you can get at Walmart....

Step4: Next use wax paper, wrap the wax paper tightly around the candle and your stamped images. Tape the ends so it won't budge.

Step5: Use your heat gun and heat your wax paper and the image you have covered with the wax paper, until the image looks like it has melted into your candle. Wait a second, then slowly and carefully pull of the wax paper. Don't hold the heat gun on for too long because then your candle will get a rippled look or a drip look.

Then you are done and you have created a beautiful gift for someone :)! I will definitely be making more of these great things soon :D! If you have any questions or something to add to my tutorial...please feel free to leave a comment :)!
