It is 1 year since my Oma's funeral

Yep, today is not only my dd's and my brother's bday but it has also been one year today that my Oma was buried. Just wanted to write two seperate posts...

It is hard to believe that it has been a year since she has passed away, time flies nowadays...it seems you blink and a year has gone by.  This year at Christmas time I am going to miss going over to my Oma's apartment and celebrating xmas with her on Christmas eve. We would all go over for supper, it would be a German meal...herring salad, with Rouladen (some roast beef meal), with Pickled Pumpkin.  Then we would go sit in the living room, and either listen to my dad play flute or accordian, or we would listen to Oma's favorite X-mas German records.  Then we would open our gifts to eachother too, while the candles on the xmas tree would burn :)!  Once we all cleaned up, put away the boxes and wrapping paper we would go home to bed. Going to mis that this year...

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY sweetie and a Haapy Birthday to my brother

Today is my dd's 2nd Bday, Happy Bday sweetie :)! She is wearing a new skirt her Nana gave to her (sorry couldn't get it in this shot), and she also got a baby doll that you see in her arms from her Nana too. This baby doll is really cute, it comes in like a peapod (that's the green you see) and the baby can also come out of it's shell :)!  The first thing she said when she saw it was "Awwww Cooot", translation:  "Awww Cute!" and she hasn't put the baby down since...and it is like the terrible two's also kicked in over night, almost like a switch went off.  She is also now officially in a big girl bed, well let me rephrase that, her crib turns into a day bed for her...when she get's a bit bigger she will go into her brothers big bed.  Hoping my dh will get going on figuring out bunkbeds for our 2 boys, soon...

Today is also my half brother's birthday, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY Dane...hope that you have a great day today and you get some fun things to enjoy up there in Fort McMurray.

done teachers and bus driver gifts :)!

So with xmas fast aproaching along with the the last day of school fast approaching, I thought I had best get on the ball t0 get these gifts made.  I needed 9 gifts, yep you read correctly 9!  Well, I have 2 bus drivers, 1 teacher for my oldest son, 3 teachers for my middle son, a resource teacher for my middle son, and 2 for the directors of the school.  Think I got everyone, if not I have 2 extras :)!

Here are the gifts for the director and the resource teacher :)!  The cans are full of dark chocolate hot chocolate mix...yummo eh?? 

Here are the gifts for my son's teachers and bus drivers, they have the Caramello coffee in

 them...did I mention that it is YUMMY??? Can't get enough of the caramel :D!  You are also probably wondering how my middle son has 3 teachers and a resource teacher...well, he goes to a special preschool for children with special needs but there are also children without any needs.  They have been working with our son, and he has shown a lot of improvement which is so exciting :)!
