The Paperquilter blog challenge for WCMD

Please hurry on over to the Paperquilter's blog and check out their challenge for WCMD (World Card Making Day), I decided to participate and am glad I did :)! I chose to case a card from a poster over on Splitcoaststampers named RaeBobcat, so here is the card that I came up with for this challenge. I am planning on mailing this card out to a little girl who is battling cancer, and her bday is coming up in the next couple of weeks so I thought I would send her a little card.
Also for this card I did a new technique for me, and that was to do the "quilted effect" using my scoring blad on my paper trimmer...am glad I tried it out...might be posting more cards with this look :P!

Question

I would like to try to take my children's pictures this year for Xmas presents, but am in serious need of some tips for taking picture of children and also taking pictures outside on a beautiful fall day. Lol, I figured someone who stops by here might have a few tricks up their sleeves :D!! I take lots of pictures, and sometimes I get really really good one's but would LOVE to have lots of really really good ones...lol. Can't wait to hear from you :D!

Isn't this ornament beautiful??? I thought so, and bonus is that it is easy to make...I saw this over on HopArts blog the other day and had to share it with you all :)! See I knew there is a reason for saving all those frozen juice lids :), and I am sure most of you have some in your freezer (Julie you can have some of mine if you want).

card for a class I am teaching

Yep, you read it right...I am teaching a cardmaking class and I am excited :)! Especially since I am helping my friend Anita teach it, and we have 14 people in our class ranging in age (We even have a guy *GASP* I know). Anyways, I tried lots of different stamped images with this card and boy was I getting frustrated by the end of it...so I thought I need a change in my crafty area. Lol, nothing really to do with my card or does it??? I felt perhaps that if I change my room around that I would get HUGE inspiration, but then I thought I should get those cards done first. So I got the card done, still not sure if it is a good one to do with this crew....it has to be sorta basic because no one really makes cards except for Anita and I. Let me know what you think (especially you Anita), and thank you ahead of time :)!





So on to my crafty area transformation, well it took a little longer than I thought it would and it was harder to do with 2 little helpers. I tried 5 different ways of having the furniture, then I decided that the HUGE china hutch in the corner HAD to move and so I set to work...it reminded me of that game "Tetris" but nothing was falling. I slid everything to one side, then moved the hutch along, then moved everything to the otherside while I got the hutch to where I wanted it and then started to play with everything else. I even moved my computer desk to a new spot..tee hee, I am excited now and it feels right! Lol, the only fear I have is that my mil and dh will get upset with me for moving those 2 heavy things without any help...plus, I have a bad left knee too. It sort of hurts, so I am icing it :)!
I know it still is kind of messy, baby steps here, baby steps :p! It will be spotless (or sort of) soon enough...just need to take a bit of a breather here with some ice on my knee :{.

Thanks for looking, hoping some sort of card making frenzy will come upon me in this new crafty spot :)!

Yep, another Xmas Card

Here is another Christmas card that I created using those adorable "Snow Angel" stamps, cute eh?? I used some patterned paper that I picked up from PhotoMemories last year, and I thought I should use it finally...it was hidden in my patterned paper case. I colored the stamped image using my SU markers and my red Tombow marker. I also then used my "Perfect Puff" paint to puff up the pompoms on their hats and the snow on the ground. LOVE how this card turned out :D! I used the sentiment "Happy Holidays" that was written in a beautiful font, and thought it would go nicely with this card.
Lol, I have to tell you about these two stamps that I saw at Carousel the other day in their "Christmas section". I saw these two cute little stamps, the first one had 3 peas sitting one on top of the other and it said "snow peas". The second one had the peas all in a row with Christmas hats on, and they said "Peas on Earth". Don't worry I didn't pick them up, but I did have my father in mind when I saw those since he is quite the pun maker.

A HUGE thank you goes out to Tracy H., she made some sets of gift cards for a friend of mine who is trying to raise money for her friend who was just diagnosed with cancer. What beautiful gift card sets they were, will post a picture of them later when my camera's battery is recharged. In this package there was also a beautiful card for me, LOVE this card Tracy :)!
I am wondering what you used to color in the tea cup?? I really like the shading you did on it...and HAVE to know what you did :)!

xmas card'08

LOVE this new Stampendous stamp I got yesterday, my first try at this card I tried to stamp the image using light green ink first and then darker ink next...to sort of give it an embossed look and that looked really nice. Then I went a little crazy with little chrystals, so I picked off all the chrystals to use them on my second attempt at this card!
Second time, I didn't do the embossed look...my second attempt of that look didn't work out! Anyways, I did manage to put a few chrystals here and there to make it look even than what it did with my first attempt. Then I used my Classic circle Nestability on my wreath stamped image, then used the Scalloped Nestabilities for a background...turned out really nice :)!
