Not sure about this card I made

I used a piece of blush cardstock from Carousel as my cards base, then stamped the Baroque Motif swirls across the top of the card. Next, I took a piece of Mellow Moss and I attached a piece of white cardstock to it using my photo stickers! Then I stamped the leaf sprig from the Best Blossom set using the Niagra Mist Dew drop ink pad, and I stamped the larger flower from the Best blossom set, using the Malted Mauve Dew drop stamp pad. Next, I stamped the flowers stem (from the Best Blossom set) just under the flower and then I attached them to the cards base using the photo stickers. I added some brown ribbon across the center of the card, just over a bit of the Baroque motif swirl stamped images, I then placed the flowers stamped image in the center of my card, just over part of the Baroque Motif stamped images. I then made a little tag using Mellow moss, a piece of white cardstock and I used the ticket punch for the corners. Then I used the mini photo dots to raise up the tag on the cards base, and I also stamped the sentiment "Cherish" onto the little tag to make it look a little more elegant. As I said in my title box, I am not too sure about this card...I just am not too happy with it :(! What do you think about it???

Here is another question for you, what kind of glue do you use on your cards?? The reason I am asking is because I have been told that after awhile (a short while) that the layers or ribbon that I have glued onto the cards has come undone. So I am in need of some good quality glue, that will ensure my cards won't fall apart...the glue that I was using was said to be really good and won't loose it's adhesiveness (lol, or whatever you call that). That was a totally misleading statement!!!

Layers, Layers and more Layers...Julie would be proud lol

This afternoon I was browsing through SCS's gallery, when I came across a card very much like this card in terms of the layers. I was about to write the ladies name down when my computer just decided it had enough with me and it turned off, and so of course when I went back on to find this card so I could give credit where it is due I couldn't find it :(. How frustrating is that, I was so mad at my computer!! For this card I used blush cardstock from Carousel as my cards base, then I cut some chocolate chip cardstock down to size and I also cut some Mellow Moss cardstock down to the size I wanted. So for the next two layers I used Chocolate chip Cardstock and a piece of patterned paper called "Little Princess" that I picked up from Michael's. Then I used 2 more pieces of cardstock that were a bit bigger, chocolate chip and white cardstock. I attached all of these together using Photo Stickers, gotta love those photo stickers :)! I then used the leaf sprig from the set Best Blossoms, and stamped all over the white piece of cardstock using my Niagra Mist dew drop ink pad. Next, I cut out the flower that I had stamped over at Julie's house last week at our crafty night (the flower came from the stamp set called True Friend). Then I attached the flowers stamped image onto a piece of scrap Mellow Moss using my mini pop dots, then I cut the flower out again but this time on the Mellow Moss cardstock. Next, I attached the Mellow Moss cardstock to a small piece of scrap Bravo Burgandy using the mini pop dots and once again cut out the flower. I then attached the flower using my photo stickers to all the layers of the card base, and then I attached some dark blue brads to the corners of my card. I LOVE how this card turned out :), I am very pleased with it and once again I apologize for not knowing whom I cased this card from. Bad computer, bad :(!

Ty, Mrs. Cox

The other day when my dh came home from work he handed my a bag saying that it was from his father, I looked inside the bag and I found these lovely things inside. I was surprised my father in law got these for me, then thought perhaps it was my mil (mother in law) who got them for me when she was out grocery shopping. Then I come to find out that I a lady from my church (Mrs. Cox) was at the dollar store and she came across these...she said that she couldn't leave them there. She thought that if she did get them she would keep them and never use them...so she got them for me :)! It made my night, I was having one of those days that was a hrad one and a treat is what I needed :)!

Thank you again Mrs. Cox :), you are a sweetie! So, I just had to make her a thank you card, so I used that cofee card I made the other day and was going to put "Thanks a latte" but then refrained because I thought it would be too cheesie. I would however like to ask, how many of you use these lovely stickers/embellishments on your cards?? I haven't used these often, think I would use them with the right card...going to have to step outside my comfort zone box I think.

Lol, My older son came to me and asked me if he and his brother could have a piece of a large candy cane we had up in the cupboard and I said that he and his brother had to share it. I also said I would cut it in half, but they couldn't wait two seconds and here is what I found when I came around the corner. Yes, they were sharing....just not the way I thought they would or was thinking....but I did get a good laugh and it made my day :)!

cards for you finally eh?

This first card I used Flat white cardstock from Carousel as my cards base, I then cut out a piece of patterned Christmas paper from the huge stack of patterned paper from Michael's by Provocraft) and it was called Holiday Slab V. Next, I stamped the image from my Season of Joy stamp set on a piece of white flat cardstock using my SU ink pad called "Always Artichoke" and then I attached it to a piece of Mellow Moss cardstock, then to a piece of red cardstock using my photo squares. Next, I stamped the little flowers down the side of the Sentiment on the Mellow Moss cardstock using the "Bravo Burgandy" SU ink pad. Then I attached both of those pieces of paper to my patterned paper card base at an angle, I thought it looked better at an angle. I think it needs something else a ribbon perhaps?? Let me know what you think please :)!

The second card that I made I used another piece of patterned paper out of the Holiday Slab V, but this time I used Bravo Burgandy cardstock as my base...then attached the patterned paper to the Burgandy using photo stickers. Next, I stamped my images onto a white flat cardstock. This time I used the stamp set called " Simple Snowman", what a cute set eh? I colored him in using my set of Tombow markers, and also some of my Prismacolored pencils....I attached him to a piece of Bravo Burgandy cardstock, then used my Ticket punch on the corners. I attached both of those pieces to my cards base, I also added a sentiment (yes, Julie I even layered it) to the bottom right hand corner and I am glad I did that because it was a nice touch to the card. For the sentiment layers I used Bravo Burgandy and also a small piece of Mellow Moss. Speaking of Julie, she has some yummy blog candy up for grabs, hurry over there before it is too late. Sorry, should have posted this sooner :(!

For my third card, I used Mellow Moss as my cards base, then I used some pretty patterned paper that I got from the "Autumn Leaves" patterned paper slab called "Smitten" ( you can these slabs from Walmart). I cut out a small square of this patterned paper, then used the ticket punch on the corners and then I stamped my image onto a white piece of cardstock. The image I chose to use this time is a CTMH (Close to My Heart) set called " A Birthday Wish", I colored this little dog in using both my Tombow markers and also my Prisma colored pencils. I cut the little dog out, then used some Pop up dots to attach him to the small square piece of Mellow Moss and then they attached to the square piece of patterned paper. Before I attached these to my card base I stamped the word "boy" all over the card using my versamark stamp pad, which I thought was a neat background to use for this card. Then, I attahed the stamped images and all its layers to the cards base and stamped the sentiment inside the card "welcome little one".

The fourth card I made, I used the same cardstock for the base ( Mellow moss) and the same patterned paper but this time I cut out a piece of the patterned paper to fit so it would cover half of the card. Then I stamped, colored in the dog (same markers and colored pencils as the above card) and I cut him out! Next, I attached the dog using Pop up dots to the center of the card...so the patterned paper is on the top half of my card and the Mellow Moss is showing on the bottom. I also used the same sentiment for the inside of the card "Welcome Little One". I plan on using one of these two cards for a friend of mine whom is having her little boy any day now, think I might use the one with the "boy" stamped all over the card base. What do you think??

The fifth card that I made, I used Bravo Burgandy for my cards base and then I stamped the Baroque Motif large Swirl on the cards base using my Versamark ink pad. Then I used my Stampendous white glitter over top of the Versamarked image, the left over glitter came off easily and I didn't have to use a brush to take off the left over glitter. Next, I stamped out the small flower image using mellow moss ink pad on a piece of scrap white cardstock and then I attached each of those flowers over top of the glittered image using pop dots. Finally, I took the sentiment "Cherish" and stamped it onto the Bravo Burgandy cardstock using Versamark. Then I took my gold Embossing powder, and I took off the left over powder using a brush and me blowing across the stamped image gently over the sink so I wouldn't have the left over powder blow over everything else. I then used my heat gun and embossed the word "Cherished" in gold...turned out better than I thought it would :)!

Going to be making more cards today, will post them later :)!! Hope everyone is staying warm, and having a great stamping day or work day :)! I know some of the cards I just posted are simple looking, but sometimes simple is the way to go...right?

Starting to wonder where all my readers are, lol, haven't had a lot of posts lately and so I thought if I added some of my cards I will get replies again :D! Tee hee, what!! I like getting replies :)!

New Acrylic Stamp sets Studio G $1.50 set #6

Here are some of the new Acrylic stamp sets that I picked up from Michael's the other day, they are apparently set #6. Love this set, it is fun and different from the other sets...you'll see what I mean when I show you them here! I can't wait to use some of these new sets :)! I am posting them this way, so that you can get a better look at these stamp sets. I thought the other way, where I line them up and show you them all in a row wasn't as nice. Ok, it was the enabler in me...I just had to post them this way :p...sorry!! If you prefer the other way, then let me know and I will go back to using the old way....
How's your Christmas shopping coming along?? Have you even started or have you finnished?? Well, I just have 4 of those boxes to finnis altering (they are all lacking something and I don't know what it is) and I also have stocking stuffers to get. I also want to get something for my oldest son's bus driver, she has been great and he wants to give her one of those refillable Tim Horton's gift cards. Then wrapping is what I have to do, and a lot of it...plus, I have to send off 3 boxes to three different parts of Canada...lol!! See I would have had all my wrapping done, but I have 2 small boys who love to do paper projects, make things with paper, cardboard, or boxes that are lying around....problem is they also don't know what "use a little bit of tape" means. They use the whole roll, then I am left with no tape, guess what I am going to do?? I am hiding my tape, hording my tape once I get more today when I am getting my groceries :)!

I also have to do some baking, just in case I have people drop in, or we have somewhere to go and need something to take...I am not going to go super crazy with my Christmas baking, plus I have to make sure that I don't have anything with Chocolate in it (sad I know) but it is one of the things my middle child can't have. No sense of having it in the house if he can't have it, and it isn't fair to him if we are all sitting around eating it...what I might do is make 2 batches of cookies have some with regular chocolate chips and the other with Carob chips.

Oh one more thing, lol, I just found another stamp set here in the set #6 that I forgot to take a picture of....it has Wish upon a star sentiment, a shooting star stamp, dream sentiment and Believe sentiment too. Sorry about that :)! I have been working on this post for a few days, I am soooorrrryyyy for not having it posted sooner!!

Boxes, boxes and more boxes

The next 3 boxes you will see here posted on my blog, were altered using paper from "Soft Serenity" from the Scrap Pads by Provo Craft. I got these papers the other day from Michael's, they were on the other side on a shelf in the paper aisle...lol, the side I never look on to be honest. Not sure why, but yesterday I did look and I found these beautiful papers :)! All four of the boxes I altered still need a little something added to them, not sure what yet..but perhaps you can give me some ideas :)! I finally got the hang of altering these boxes, and will alter more in the future I think...these boxes are going to hold several of my cards and some envelopes for...great xmas gift ideas I thought.

I am now off to make a gift card holder for a gift card that I picked up the other day and it didn't come with anything (like an envelope or box) , think I may pop over to SCS to see what different ideas they have there...I have a vague idea of what I am looking for but don't know if that is what I am going to use.
