Crafty night

Here is our project for "Crafty Night" on Saturday night at Julie's house, that Julie found online and Val/Kim helped out with the project :)! This was a really FUN project, and will definitely do it again soon....perhaps a great Mother's Day gift or something. Don't worry my mom nor my Mother in Law don't look at my blog often, so I am not too worried about them seeing this project...

Here is the other side of the box we created, we started out with a blank box from Michael's, painted Gesso onto it, then painted our box whatever color we wanted. We then also made this GORGEOUS flower, which I will be making again and again I am sure :)! I added the beads on the bottom of the box for feet, and will be adding more to the box later but just wanted to show you all what we created.

Every month we issue out a challenge to our crafty group of gals, then the night of our "Crafty Night" we draw names and swap our challenge projects to each other. This time I drew Vals name, LOVE your card :)! Love how you had the pattern on the patterned paper shimmery...beautiful work Val :)!

I received a card in the mail from Maryann Lawrence in my mailbox, thank you so much for this cute card...very nice :)! This card is part of the CEE (Canadian Card Exchange) that I am part of, where you have to send 2 cards a month once signed up and you get 2 cards from two other people...fun stuff.

Thanks for stopping by,
Catherine

Crafty night

Thursday night was my monthly crafty night out with the gals, for this crafty night we had to make 8 Xmas cards and so I wanted to do something different. Here is what I came up with :)! For this card I first cuttle bugged my green card stock with the Snowflake embossing folder, and then I used my Nestabilities to cut out the large label out of White card stock (from Carousel), a circle out of the same white card stock and a tiny gold square Nestabilities. I then took the white circle and I embossed the gold pattern onto the circle card stock, once I did that I took a sponge and inked up the white card stock using my Bravo Burgundy SU ink pad. So no that is not Burgundy card stock that I embossed on, lol, thought I would do something different.

I took my white label card stock and stamped the branch like image onto the edge of the card stock, to make it look like the end of a Christmas tree. I then sponged the blue on around the tree stamped image, it really made the branches pop. I attached the branch image onto the card base, then attached the circle ornament onto the branch. Next, I attached the ribbon onto the top of the card because I felt the card needed something else to make it look more like a Christmas card.

We then exchanged our Christmas card challenge
cards to each other, which is always exciting to see what the other gals have made :)! The first card is Louise's card, it is gorgeous and love the font of the "Peace" sentiment.

The next cards is Deborah's card, another gorgeous card and it is an easel card (sorry I didn't take it out of the clear envelope it was in). It is gorgeous, and I have been meaning to try my hand at the easel cards but just haven't gotten around to it. Now I will HAVE to :p!

The next card/lantern project was done by Val, and what a great idea that was she had to make this :)! LOVE it :D, okay so I LOVED all of them :p!

Here's Kim's project, GORGEOUS snowflake card :)!

Deborah did the first project with us, it was a fun easy one which I really loved doing. It was to stamp on a candle and to blingify it :p (like my new word??) ! Gorgeous...just gorgeous and easy to do too, didn't take long.

The next project was done by Louise, she taught us how to make a cute lantern and also gave us those battery operated tea lights. Wouldn't these look cute hung all over your Christmas tree??
Once we were all done our projects we exchanged our Xmas gifts, and also played a fun game which I will have to get the directions for. We also had some yummy chocolate cake that Kim brought for us, and boy was it delicious :)!

Crafty night

Tonight is Crafty night, the challenge for tonight was to make 8 cards (one for everyone) and it had to have more than 5 layers on it. I just couldn't resist to make a Christmas card, so here is what I came up with...just LOVE this old country Santa. It comes from the set called Believe by Papertrey :)! Had fun making this card for everyone, will have the other 8 cards that the other made that I will post tomorrow sometime.

I am also in charge of the project tonight, and we
are making a a notepad holder...was hoping that it would be able to stick to the fridge because of the magnets on the back of the notepads. It wouldn't stay on the fridge as it was too heavy...but if you don't want it in the notepad holder then you can take it out. I will post the tutorial for this project tomorrow once I type it up for you all :)! Here is the inside and also the outside of the notebook holder...nothing fancy but am sure the girls will do something great with theirs.

Now that it is getting closer to the time I have to do my project, I am getting a bit stressed out as I think I should have done something else for a project. I know, I know we said not to get stressed out and it isn't something to get stressed out about....but still I am a wee itty bitty bit!

Crafty night

For this months challenge we not only had to make a card for everyone attending, but we had to make a single layered card. Here are the cards I received from all the other crafty gals...

Julies card, has a Asian feel to this card.

Val's GORGEOUS card...stunning work Val :)!

Germaine's (the Birthday girl)card, LOVE what she did with her card...just beautiful.

Kim's funny card, cute card :)!

Deborah's card, LOVE IT :)!

Then we did two crafty projects, that Deborah and Kim came up and provided all the stuff to make it there. The first project we did was Deborah's and she taught us how to do a neat technique which I forgot the name of, will let you know once of of the gals there last night sees my post and responds to it :p. With Deborah's technique we got to take it home and complete the card or whatever on our own, thank you Deborah for the fun technique.

The next project was by Kim, and what a fun project it was to do :)! Thank you Kim, for this neat project...now my boys want me to make a lot of these. Kim even provide
d treats to go
in these neat coffins...yummo :p!

Here is the inside of the coffin, and would
highly recommend using super tacky tape or the Sookw
ang double sided tape to put this project together.

Thanks for the fun night out gals, I know I REALLY REALLY needed it with school starting for Ethan...things have been kind of hectic and stressful :)!
