Baby Card

I just found out a week ago that one of my hubby's co-workers wives is expecting their first child, so I just HAD to make them an adorable card using an A Muse stamp that I picked up the other day.

I also picked up the "Quick Kutz" Polka Dot embossing folder, still not too sold on these embossing folders by this company.  I think I still prefer the Cuttlebug embossing folders over these QuckKutz ones!!  I think part of the problem was that I didn't know you needed a few shims (pieces of paper) in order to get a good deep embossed look. Otherwise, if you used them like you do the Cuttlebug folders (which I did the first time) you will get a faint/lightly embossed image.

Thanks for stopping by,

Grad card for Youth Pastor of our church

The Youth pastor at our church, has just graduated from Acadia University and we are holding a party for him tomorrow after church.  I wanted to make a different Graduation card for him, wanted to make it kind of a fun card and I think I did it...however, next time I will have to figure out how to do it so the card portion stays closed.

Here is the card from another angle, so you can see what I meant when I said that the card portion doesn't like to stay closed :(.  But it is a cute card...if you would like me to do a tutorial on it please let me know :).  I added a ribbon on the side of the cap, because I couldn't find anything that looked like a tassle.

Card Challenge

This month's challenge was put out to us by Kim, she would like us all to make a card using a stamp of somesort with an image of a woman on it.  Would love it if you all could play along with this challenge too...this project that you create can be a card/box/bag/ornament...anything you want as long as it has a stamped image of a woman on it.  I am currently working on my project, and will post it Tuesday night when I am at the crafty night :)!

different style card for me

I was so excited to get the blog candy I won from Ink Cut and Fold blog candy's giveaway in the mail the other day, what gorgeous stamp sets :)!  I decided that I would make a card using one of the stamp sets, and so I thought I could use one of the stamps in the set to make the background on the base of the card instead of using patterned paper. Turned out a lot better than I thought, it was my first time at attempting to use one stamp to make a background like this...think I will do this technique again :)!

The first picture wasn't a good angle of the card, so I took a second picture so you can get a better idea of what it looks like.

Thank you so much Erica for the great blog candy, will REALLY enjoy using the goodies :)!
So here are some of the goodies I won, there is some goodies still coming since there was also a Pezadoodle $15 gift certificate included in this giveaway.
