My project of the month for our group challenge

Yep, it's that time again...tomorrow night is my monthy night out with my crafty girlfriends and I am in much need of it :)! Okay, so this months challenge out to us was to create something outside your comfort zone...to step outside your usual colors and comfort zone with some stamps you might have. Anyways, I wanted to do this cute little box...as I am not really into making boxes unless of course one of our gals (like Yvonne, Deborah, Kim, or Julie) does a project night and we make one.

I

thought this one was just a fun project to do and also use a stamp set that I probably wouldn't normally use!! So, I got the box idea from the blog called "Clearly iStamp" and the box is called a petal box...can't wait to make more of these beauties :)!

Will have more pictures for you later, once I get home from our crafty night out...

Card for my sister and her soon to be hubby :)!

Here is the card that I came up with for my sister and her soon to be hubby Jamie, we are off to Nfld. on Thursday morning. Myself and the kids are in the wedding party...oh yeah, and no my dd's hair didn't grow fast like I had hoped :(! I will be back Tuesday with lots of pictures I am sure, and hopefully I will come home to a house that wasn't affected by hurricane Bill.

Father in Law Bday card

My Father in laws bday was last week, but they were away backwoods

camping for a week so I gave him his card yesterday when we saw them. I have a hard time making masculin cards, I think I am not alone in this, I decided to use my Impression Obsession "Lighthouse" stamp. I also used the "Happy Birthday" Cuttlebug embossing folder, I put the whole card in so it would be emobossed on the inside of the card too. Then I added a piece of what cardstock in the inside of the card for me to be able to write something on the inside.

3D Pop Up Card

I came across this neat tutorial on the blog called "Under the Inkfluence", it was pretty easy to do and fun :)! So here is what I came up with, the first picture is of the outside of the card and the second picture is what I did for the inside of the card. I had a bit of trouble coming up with what to do for the inside of the card...dunno why it was hard to come up with!!

Will have to work on another card like this, to see

if I can come up with something better than what I did for the inside of the card.

Another Impression Obsession fall challenge card

I wanted to make another Impression Obsession "fall challenge card", so this time I used this gorgeous image of a coffee cup and in the background coffee beans plus a crossword puzzle. Really LOVE this image :)! I also used the "pumpkin flourish" cuttlebug folder for the base of my card...which doesnt' show up the way I had hoped.

Another one of Peach-chelle's images

So, I am using another one of Peach-chelle's images I got from the Deviant Art site to make this card...thought I would try to make it an elegant looking card and in the end it came out looking like a Bridal shower kind of card.

I used the floral swirls cuttle bug folder for this card, I used Copic markers to color in this image and I learned how to do these really fun beautiful bows. Will do a tutorial later for you to see how to do these bows :)! Am sad to say that this picture doesn't do this card justice...oh well...blame the photographer (tee hee, that'd be moi) :p.

Yep, you read it correctly...over at the blog called "Crafty Goings On" they are having a Copic Marker giveaway and it is one of the larger sets they are giving away as well. Here is my card for their "Coloring Challenge", I used SU markers to color in these season images....am happy with how this card turned out since I had no idea what direction it would go. I also used dimensionals on all the tree images, to make them stand off the page a bit...think it made the card look 100% better.

a set back

So we have had a bit of a set back, I think that is what you would call it...oh well, that's what I am going to call it :p! Our son E*, has been on his meds for about 2 months now which is SUPER :)....however about 3 weeks ago I started to see changes in him. By changes I mean him starting to slip back slowly into his own little world again, meltdowns are coming back, he is getting more irritable, he is stimming again and he is also not able to tell you as often what is bothering him. Not too sure what is going on there, his med dosage hasn't changed or anything...but luckily he has an appointment to see "dr. flip flop" in the morning. It is like we take two steps forward, to only take one to two back...

Will keep you posted!

So about a month ago, I started to look at the line art on the site called Deviant Art and I came across this girl art work ( her Deviant name is Peach-chelle) that I REALLY liked. I then thought that I could use some of her images on my cards, so I sent her an e-mail telling her how much I LOVE her images and that she needs to make more. I also explained that I make my own handmade greeting cards, and would love to use her images...well, to make a long story short she was thrilled and I made her day.

So tonight I thought I had better get going on some of the cards, to show her what I have done or can do with some of her images... and she also told me she will start to draw more images :D!

Do NOT see this movie

Last night my dh and I decided to rent a movie, something we haven't done in awhile and so I went out to see what I could find. Well, I ended up getting this movie (which I thought would be really good since Dakota Fanning) called "Push". I do NOT recommend this movie, it was slow...a little hard to follow but in the end it just wasn't good....

New LOOK

Well, dunno what it was about today that I decided that I wanted to change up my blog a bit...so I set to work to :

1) Figure out if I could make my own blogger template using Photoshop Elements 5.0...NOPE no luck there

2) Try to make my own banner, check :D...very happy with how it turned out :D!

3) Try to find a template online that I could use, NOPE nothing worked or made me get excited about the look of my blog

4) find some blog "Skins" to use, NOPE didn't find anything there either.

5) try to find blogger backgrounds I could use, HURRAY found a few :)!

So here is what I came up with...let me know what you think??
