Thank you card

Okay, so I am really unsure about this "Thank you" Card that I made a few minutes ago...dunno what it is...it is either missing something or I just didn't do it right. Or perhaps I am just not happy with how it turned out...thinking I am going to have to play with this set a bit more.Lol, so I am hoping a fresh pair(S) of eyes will be helpful :)!

The patterned paper you see here, comes on a roll and I picked it up and another roll at one of my crafty stores Carousel. It is pretty thin and delicate paper, so you need to be gentle with it or it will tear easily but isn't it just gorgeous???

The stamp set is from the new "Hero Arts" 3 Japanese girls set and the clear single girl set.

Thank you card

I was in need of a "Thank you" card for a friend of mine, I decided that I HAD to figure out how to use the SU scallop punch and that this is the card I wanted to use it on. Here is a bit of background information about the issue I had with this punch, see I thought it was one solid punch long enough to get the length of a card in one punch (know what I mean?). But it doesn't, it ony gets about 1-2" of the card and you have to punch it 2 times or more...I found it hard to line up and to get the scallops to not look deformed. So I turned the punch over so that I could line it up better, sure enough that is a whole lot easier but not as easy as I was hoping it would be. Sorry about the lighting, I sooooo HAVE to take a photography course or something...or get my dh to rig me up a photo box :D!

SU Very Vanilla Cardstock, Chocolate chip cardstock, avacado green cardstock from Carousel Rubberstamp store

Ink:

Archival ink black, Archival ink Coffee, SU Bravo Burgandy and SU Always Artichoke, 985 Tombow marker

SU Watercolor garden, another stamp set from SU with HUGE daisies in it not sure of it's name, SU Short and Sweet stamp set

Others:

Burgandy ribbon from Michael's, dollar store double sided tape, a dauber, and Cuttlebug folder with branch, Cuttlebug, SU Scallop punch

Thank you card

I was in need of a "Thank you" card, because we are going to an annual church family retreat this weekend and the speaker there is a good friend of ours. Anyways, here is the card that I created for her...it is kind of hard to tell but I used the new branch with leaves cuttlebug folder on the base of the card.
The stamp that I used for this card is from Impression Obsession, and I have to say that I LOVE this stamp. Oh, what am I saying I LOVE ALL stamps :D! The cardstock is all SU cardstock, the ribbon I got from Michael's several months ago, I used my SU markers to color in the image.


Go on, get creating I dare ya :)!

Thank you card

Hi, everyone tis me me slacking blogger...lol! Sorry about this lack of creative creating going on here, just seemed to need to put the blogging on hold for a few days and it also seems that I have once again misplaced my mojo. I just dunno where it could be, it was there one minute and *poof* gone...but the good news is that I think I have found it :).

I am hubby, and 2 kids free this weekend :)! My dh, our 2 sons, my inlaws and some of their friends have all gone camping/white water canoeing this weekend. It is pouring rain all day today, perhaps even into tomorrow...they left early this morning and won't be back until Monday sometime. SOOOOOoooooo, my dd (who is now 17 mos) and I are having a girly weekend together :)! So far I feel lost without my other two, I keep looking around me, checking the car for them, doing continous head counts and waiting for the slightest thing to set my almost 4 year old son off. None of that happened this morning, it was nice...although I did feel that I had to run through a store screaming at the top of my lungs and just throw a tantrum just cuz I miss my sons. Don't worry, I didn't do that...

Anyways, I recieved 2 diaper boxes and 2 bags full of girly clothes for my dd from my sister in laws sister the other week. I felt that this deserved a wonderful fun card, whimsical or something...so here is the card that I created for her. I made this last night when 3 of us went over to Julie's place for a crafty night, and no it actually wasn't a SU night...lol, I think all our hubby's breathed in a sigh of relief there. Thank you so much Julie for the fun night, oh yeah and the YUMMY ice cream cake that she made for us :)! I added some lovely crystals to this card since the girls saw it last night, this card looked like it was missing something and I must say that the crystals were the missing element to my card.

I also needed a sympathy card for a couple that attend our church that we goto, the husband's mother died last week and I wanted to do a different kind of card...so here is what I came up with. She apparently had been sick for a little while, plus, they just had given up their grandson for adoption, whom they have been raising since birth. So they are having a hard time lately, as one could imagine!

I am also in the process of trying out a new technique that I spotted over on Splitcoast and also on Karen B. Barber's blog ( I will find her link to her blog for you all and will post it), the technique is called "Black Magic". What an amazingly beautiful technique, and it is one of those "oh I gotta try that" kind of techniques and it is one that looks harder to do than it actually is. Gotta love that kind of project too :)! So here is my first attempt at the "Black Magic" technique, and I have to say that I didn't use metallic colored pencils for this technique which other's have been using. I used my prisma colored pencils, but you do have to press kind of hard to make sure you get the nice deep colors :D...let me know what you think??
