Embrace life and Tu Tu Terrific

I was in need of a Sympathy card for a good friend of mine, whom just lost a good close friend of his whom he met through AA...this guy drove my friend to and from the meetings they attended. I guess this man was found in his place, deceased...my friend is taking this rather hard and felt a card would be a good idea but I wanted this card to be something I have never done before with a touch of something I had done before. Make sense? Clear as mud I suppose :)!
So I used the Blue Bayou card stock from SU for the base, then I stamped the "Sitched" background stamp onto the card using the Versamark ink pad. It made it look neat, not so much a watermark but almost like I stamped it using a colored ink pad. I then used the classic square Nestability to cut out my square, and stamped the "Embrace Life" Asian stamp. I colored in the flowers using my coral pink and a light yellow Touch Marker (love them), then I embossed the square with the same classic square nestability. I thought this look was something different for me, I am sure several of you have already done this technique :)! I then took some Glass finish from Papier, and colored in some of the flowers which made them look glossy...I would have to say that the only downfall of this product is that it takes 3 hours to dry. Lol, I had a hard time waiting for it to be done drying :p!! I added a ribbon, the sentiment and the brads next which I thought added a more Asian look to the card as well. I then put th card together and this is the finished product, I am thrilled with how this card turned out and can't wait to do this sort of different card again :)! *Gasp*, I didn't use green or yellow card stock either :)!!
I was also in need of a little girls 1st Bday card, so I decided to use my scalloped square Nestabilities for the base of the card. I also decided to layer a bit too...but I used the classic square Nestabilities for the other layers of the card. I used the "Tu-Tu Terrific" stamp set from SU for the little girl image, and a clear $1.50 stamp from Michael's for the sentiment (which is hard to see, sorry). Love how the colors look together too :), and the way I had the card held together using eyelets and ribbon. I guess I made the card more so for the parents to enjoy, not that the little girl will enjoy it unless she will use it to teeth on :)! I thought that the card would be small enough to put into a baby album, where as most cards out there are huge and awkward to put into an album. I am SMRT or what??
